Beebe Medical Center has received five-star ratings for clinical excellence in Total Knee Replacement and Hip Fracture Repair, according to a comprehensive study released in October by HealthGrades, the nation's leading healthcare ratings company.
Beebe Medical Center not only is five-star rated in these orthopedic procedures, but the exceptional quality of care provided at Beebe Medical Center continues to place it among the best hospitals in the state and the nation for orthopedic services. According to the 2008 HealthGrades' ratings, Beebe Medical Center is ranked in the top 10% of all hospitals nationally for overall orthopedic services.
The exceptional clinical outcomes that determine these ratings have placed Beebe Medical Center at the top of orthopedic care for the entire Delmarva Peninsula, ranking it #1 for Overall Orthopedic Services. HealthGrades also awarded Beebe Medical Center with the prestigious Five-Star rating for: total knee replacement and hip fracture repair.

 As part of its ninth annual Hospital Quality in America Study, HealthGrades independently analyzed more than 5,000 hospitals in all 50 states and the District of Columbia for its 2008 ratings, objectively assessing their clinical outcomes and quality. The 40 million hospitalization records utilized in the assessment are publicly available and licensed from the federal government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The HealthGrades ratings take into account varying degrees of patient severity from hospital to hospital and measure whether patient outcomes for each of more than two dozen procedures and diagnoses are better than expected (5-Star), as expected (3-Star) or worse than expected (1-Star).
