CUSTOMER SERVICE
To quantify our progress, Beebe measures patient satisfaction through the national firm Press, Ganey Associates. Beebe patients complete customer satisfaction surveys that are ranked against those of other medical institutions nationwide. Beebe’s Emergency Department rated in the 95th percentile in 2002, compared with nearly 600 hospitals throughout the nation. Many year-round residents and seasonal visitors rate Beebe’s services high when comparing them to metropolitan areas where they usually receive care. Nearly 40% of Beebe Medical Center’s annual emergency patient visits occur between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Based on this experience, we know what to expect when summer approaches, and we take the necessary steps to prepare, such as adding staff and opening our Millville Emergency Center.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Our year-round and seasonal population growth has given our Emergency Department an array of trauma experience. We are able to handle an increasing number of medical complications, which is a credit to the Beebe team as well as to the support of the community. Beebe is equipped to handle healthcare needs of local residents and seasonal visitors to the Lewes Emergency Department with an advanced electronic patient-tracking system, bedside registration, and dedicated X-ray equipment to reduce waiting times. The Lewes Emergency Department is ideally located for visitors to Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, and Dewey Beach. The Millville Emergency Center, located on Route 26, is best suited for summer visitors to the Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island areas. Beebe’s Lewes Emergency Department is also a Level III trauma center, which means Beebe has implemented the necessary treatment protocols and procedures, acquired the necessary equipment, and ensured the availability of qualified personnel required to stabilize and care for trauma patients, or transport them to a Level I trauma center, if necessary.

OUTPATIENT CARE CENTER AT BEEBE HEALTH CAMPUS
Beebe Medical Center’s Outpatient Care Center at the Beebe Health Campus on Route 24, one mile west of Route 1, offers a range of services in a location more central to Beebe’s service area. Beebe constructed this facility with community needs in mind, after researching residents’ preferences for location and facility features. The Outpatient Care Center includes physical therapy, diagnostic imaging/radiology services, and a lab with express testing services, including EKG. All services are provided under one roof, with ample parking and extended hours. The main entrance has a sheltered patient drop-off area and each service has its own reception and waiting area to make visitors comfortable and to maintain patient privacy.
