Bobbi Lehman, at 37, never expected to have cancer. She had a small lump on the side of her neck. She thought it was just a swollen gland but her friend and Dagsboro neighbor Catherine Moran, who was studying to be a nurse, urged her to have it checked out by a physician. Bobbi did, and she learned that she had a stage III cancer in her tonsils.

“She saved my life,” says Bobbi, holding back her tears.

The diagnosis came at a difficult time in her life. She and her husband were divorcing, and she was in the middle of looking for another place to live. Since her family did not live in the area, she turned to her friends for help. They helped her move. They went with her to her cancer treatments. They were there when her family could not be. “I am a blessed woman to have so much support from my friends and my family.”
