Lisa Hartley, a certified nursing assistant with Delaware Hospice, learned in February 2007 that she had lung cancer. After being treated at Tunnell Cancer Center, her cancer was diagnosed as dormant.
“I never stopped working, even through chemotherapy,” she says. “I am dedicated to my patients.” Lisa’s husband, Glenn, sticks by her side as she keeps her focus on the needs of her patients and tries not to think about herself. She spends her days visiting patients and providing personal care for them in their homes.
“It brings normalcy to my life,” she says. “My goal is to see my patients smile. I bring them fresh vegetables, hair spray if needed. I go out of my way to make them happy.”
