Beebe School of Nursing Offers
Evening/Weekend Program

This fall for the first time, The Beebe School of Nursing will offer its popular nursing education program during the evenings and weekends, as well as in the daytime.

The new program, to take place Tuesdays and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and clinical on days every other weekend, is designed for those who wish to study nursing, but who have obligations that do not allow them to take classes on week days. It will include the same syllabus and course content as the day program, and the same requirements for admission and enrollment.

"We have discovered that there is a real need for a nursing program that is available for people who have jobs and family responsibilities, but who would very much like to enter the nursing profession," says Connie Bushey, Director of Beebe School of Nursing. "Because of the critical demand for nurses, we have decided to add this program to our existing curriculum offering."

The evening/weekend program will run year-round, with scheduled breaks. Required college prerequisites will need to be completed prior to enrollment in the first nursing course. The first level of the program will be taught in three, 22-week blocks. The second level will be taught in two, 33-week blocks. The new program, which begins in October, is contingent upon adequate enrollment. To enroll, contact the Beebe School of Nursing by July 15 at (302) 645-3251 in order to receive an application.

The Beebe School of Nursing, based at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del., is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware and is celebrating its 85th year of quality nursing education. It is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The diploma in Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying Beebe graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure. Beebe graduates have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state and can complete a Bachelors in Nursing degree at Wilmington College through a well established articulation agreement with one additional year of study.

Beebe Medical Center is a not-for-profit community medical center with a mission to encourage healthy living, prevent illness, and restore optimal health with the people residing, working, or visiting in the communities we serve.
