Erica Webb, a senior at Beebe School of Nursing, has earned the Dr. Carl G. Pierce, Jr. Scholarship for her outstanding academic performance. Ms.Webb, who would like to become a pediatric intensive care nurse, is from Wyoming, Delaware.

The scholarship is awarded to a student based on his or her academic performance in Maternal, Child and Family Health Nursing, as well as on a caring and professional attitude and interest in pediatrics. Mrs. Carl G. Pierce, Jr., together with her family, set up the scholarship in memory of her husband who was a physician at Beebe Medical Center from 1951 until he retired in 1987. Dr. Pierce also had a long association with Beebe School of Nursing, where he served as School physician and taught nursing students about children.
